Enid Lake

Enid Lake is a reservoir located in northwestern Mississippi, approximately 13 miles north of Batesville. The lake was created in 1952 by the construction of Enid Dam on the Yocona River. It covers an area of over 16,000 acres and has a maximum depth of 60 feet.
The lake is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and offers a variety of recreational activities, including boating, fishing, camping, hunting, and hiking. Enid Lake also has several developed parks and campgrounds, including Wallace Creek, Chickasaw Hill, and Long Branch.
Enid Lake is known for its excellent fishing opportunities, with populations of crappie, bass, catfish, and other species. The lake also hosts several fishing tournaments throughout the year.
Enid Lake and the surrounding area are home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, turkeys, ducks, and geese. The Enid Lake Wildlife Management Area provides additional opportunities for hunting and wildlife viewing.
